Find out what mens jewelry is in [hint: cufflinks is one of them]
|
Interestingly some information below do apply to buying, maintaining and choosing your pair of cufflinks!
Men's Jewelry: It's Not Just for Women Anymore
By Antigone Arthur Find out what mens jewelry is in, what to buy for a loved one and more!
People often associate the term "jewelry" with something a woman possesses and covets. Yet for centuries mens jewelry has been fashionable and popular among elite and average men alike. Kings and Pharaohs in ancient times wore jewelry as a symbol of power and prestige. Whether a member of a tribe, team, work group or family many men wore rings as a symbol of their belonging or achievement. Jewels and jewelry have been coveted since the beginning of time, as symbols of power, richness, beauty, commitment and even pride. Just as princesses and Queen's of old fell under the spell of sparkling gems, so too have men fallen under the tempting promise a precious metal offers.
History shows that men have worn jewels and rings for a variety of reasons. Most jewelry serves as an aesthetically pleasing accompaniment to a wardrobe or fashionable figure. Yet mens jewelry has also served functional purposes, including describing a male's social status, place in society and of course, marital status.
Men's Wedding Bands
Mens wedding bands are among the most common form of mens jewelry purchased. The tradition of offering a double ring or mens wedding bands at a wedding ceremony can be traced back to the mid 1940s in the United States. At this time jewelry manufacturers popularized the idea of offering a groom's wedding band as the perfect accompaniment to the ladies wedding ring. The idea of a groom's ring however, existed long before advertisers popularized it. In fact, consumers had already bought into the idea that a groom's ring symbolized much more than marriage, but also male prosperity and stability.
Among the more common and popular forms of mens jewelry on the market today is the mens diamond wedding band. Many gentlemen prefer to purchase a dual wedding set featuring a mens diamond wedding band and ladies diamond wedding ring. Mens wedding bands are often much thicker than women's. Though many men prefer jewelry that is subtle and less adorned, others prefer mens wedding bands that are ornate and intricate.
Accessories
There is no end to the jewelry accessories available to today's modern man. Mens jewelry often comes with complementary mens jewelry boxes made to hold a collection of cherished pieces. In fact, many men have so many necklaces, rings and bracelets one might consider mens jewelry boxes the ideal gift.
Other more common accessories offered in the mens jewelry category include the following:
Cufflinks Bracelets Money Clips Rings Watches Earrings Chains
There is virtually nothing one can buy a woman that they can't buy a man when it comes to fashionable and tasteful mens jewelry. Don't be surprised to find many women out shopping for mens jewelry, a trend that is increasingly more popular as men continue to grow in their love of jewels and precious accessories. Why not? Who doesn't want to adorn their bodies with precious gems and sparkling gifts that say, I'm strong, I'm powerful, I'm handsome.
Finding Quality Men's Jewelry
Finding quality mens jewelry isn't difficult at all. More and more consumers are turning to the internet, buying mens jewelry online rather than in traditional department stores. The benefits of buying mens jewelry online are obvious. A consumer can browse thousands of unique and detailed selections, from mens wedding bands, bracelets, watches and more. Why not shop from the comfort of your home?
Consumers should be looking for several things when shopping online, particularly if buying a mens diamond wedding band. When it comes to diamonds, there are several important indicators of quality including cut, color, clarity and carat. Cut refers to the shape of the diamond; there are several different cuts available including:
Round Oval Pear Marquis Emerald Color of course refers to the color of the stone; not all diamonds are clear. In fact, most are a definitive color such as yellow, blue or green. All diamonds have hints of some color in them. When a mens diamond wedding ring shows little evidence of flaws, the clarity is good. The weight of the stone of course is the carat, and price often reflects this valuable assessment. Other signs of quality in mens jewelry include price, craftsmanship and originality. Antique jewelry is an oft popular option for men looking for something unique or one of a kind. Most antique jewelry offers quality that is time tested and trustworthy.
Tips for Maintaining Men's Jewelry
Once you've found the perfect piece of jewelry, you have to care for it properly so that it lasts a lifetime. The best way to do this is to clean the jewelry frequently to remove built up dirt. The best substances to clean a mens wedding band with are jewelry cleaning solutions or alcohol. These same products can be used on other pieces, such as cufflinks, clips and bracelets. You can clean most mens jewelry with a soft bristled toothbrush. Also remember to bring the jewelry in to a jeweler on occasion, particularly if you have purchased a mens diamond wedding band. The jeweler will be able to inspect the jewelry for loose prongs or damage to the ring. Lastly, mens jewelry should always be kept in a mens jewelry box. The kitchen counter or dresser top is no place for valuable gems!
A Final Word on Men's Jewelry
When buying mens jewelry, be sure you take enough time to look at the wide selection available. Take your time. Remember that shopping for jewelry can be fun. Find the right piece, and you can pass it down from generation to generation. You even have the option of customizing jewelry to match your own unique personality and style preferences. When it comes to mens jewelry, the options are limitless. Masculinity, femininity, pride and personality... all have the potential to shine with the help of a jewel or two.

What can I buy my dad on Father's Day?
|

Just wondering what you can get dad on father's day? Well, take alook on this article and will give you some idea. If you are mad with your dad for whatsoever reason, think of us compare to the universe. We are just dust...
Gift Ideas for Father's Day, 18 June 2006 By Michael Hanna
Dads, and in fact men in general, are notoriously difficult to buy for. And Father's Day is a tricky one – it's not as personal as a birthday, but you can't really ignore your dad on the day when every other father in the land is getting a new tie. The secret of a good Father's Day gift lies in thoughtfulness. You may not feel comfortable telling your dad that you love him, or that you are grateful for all that he does for you, but you can express a great deal with a hand-made card, or a carefully chosen gift.
Put yourself in his shoes
Think about what your dad likes, and needs. If he has an important business meeting coming up, maybe a new tie or shirt, from somewhere like T.M.Lewinwill be appreciated. When the meeting comes around, you can remind him to wear your gift, and tell him that you will be thinking of him. If, on the other hand, your father is a stay-at-home dad, who spends his days in jogging bottoms and a t shirt, then maybe he needs some time and space to himself once in a while. What about a gift he can keep?
Perhaps you would prefer to buy your dad a keepsake for Father's Day. There are plenty of affordable gift ideas out there, and many of them are easy to get hold of from websites. H.Samuel is a familiar high street name, but you may not have realised what a huge range of gifts they have. There's bound to be a store near you, and you can also try out their website – you can find what you want by shopping by price, by brand or by category.
Ideas for Traditional Dad...
If your dad is the traditional type, who wears a suit and tie to work, then maybe he would like a smart new watch to complement his business attire? Classic brands such as Accurist and Seiko are perfect to add a sophisticated touch to his look. You could also consider a pen set – it's not the most exciting of presents, but if you have it engraved with your dad's name or initials, it will become something much more special.
Cool Dad...
Does your dad still reckon he's hip with the kids? Then treat him to a poker set, just make sure he doesn't play for money, or he might fritter away your inheritance. Alternatively, why not get him something from one of his favourite brands? Well-known names such as Ben Sherman and Puma are now producing funky gifts, jewellery and watches.
Young Dad...
For the younger dad, you might like to think about buying some jewellery. Of course, not all men go for jewellery, but if you know that he wears it, you could give him something a bit different like a silver dogtag necklace or a chunky bracelet. Again, engraving these gifts can make them extra special. Or why not find a cool, sleek photo frame to give him? Add the personal touch with a precious photo of the two of you.
Older Dad...
Cufflinks are always a good bet for Father's Day, and they are getting more stylish. It's up to you to choose whether your dad would like fun, novelty cufflinks, a traditional discreet pair or some designer ones from a top fashion brand like Police or Ben Sherman. Another great present, which will be appreciated by the many dads out there who like the odd tipple, is a tankard or hip flask.
Thanks Dad
Whatever you choose to get your dad, the most important thing about Father's Day is that it gives you a unique opportunity to tell you dad just how much you love him, and what he means to you. It may be that those words won't actually come out of your mouth, but the perfect present will do the talking for you.

How to Start an eBay Bidding War [ on cuff links]
|

How to Start an eBay Bidding War (on cufflinks)
You should be able to find several indispensable facts about cufflinks in the following paragraphs. If there's at least one fact you didn't know before, imagine the difference it might make.
Truthfully, the only difference between you and cufflinks experts is time. If you'll invest a little more time in reading, you'll be that much nearer to expert status when it comes to cufflinks.
I found this article intersting especially for cufflinks collectors or sellers. If you are interested to buy a pair of decent cufflinks or sell cufflinks on ebay why got read the article written below. This will give you an insight into the background of sell/buy market. Hope this help your quest for more vintage cufflinks!
How to Start an eBay Bidding War By Avril Harper
Imagine Just Two People in the Whole Wide World Want Something You Are Selling ….. Just Two People ….. Now Imagine More than Two People, Many More ….. Imagine Fierce Fighting Where You Are the Eventual Winner
A bidding war is where two or more people bid furiously against one another, each desperate to own a particular item.
Phenomenal results are possible, such as last month, where a postcard by artist A. R. Quinton, depicting a cliff view at Herne Bay, fetched £100 plus. By anyone’s standards, the card was worth about £3 for the view and maybe a few pounds more for the artist.
I checked and found that two serious bidders, one of Herne Bay topographical postcards, the other a Quinton enthusiast, had launched a bidding war that was eventually won by the Herne Bay collector, or was the real winner the seller of this rather common-a-garden postcard?
Such events are not uncommon. My own best selling item this month, a pair of vintage cufflinks with ancient Greek Coins, for which I paid £3 at a flea market, went for £34, with the two final bidders being a collector of cufflinks and another of Greek coins. The Greek coin collector won.
You only need two bidders and it doesn’t matter if they’re interested in the same product or specific parts of your product or listing. The end result is always the same; more money for you.
You’re looking for just two people in the whole wide world, these tips will help you find them.
* List a minimum two items (or themes) in one lot. The trick is to make each item valuable in its own right and appealing to more than one person. The cufflinks and postcard are good examples. I’ve seen other wars raging over two completely unrelated postcards listed together; two books bearing no relation to one another; a pack of artist illustrated playing cards where one bidder wanted the cards and the other collected all things artist related.
* List in two eBay categories to achieve maximum market penetration. You can also list in two shop categories. For the Quinton/Herne Bay postcard I’d list under ‘Artist Drawn Postcards’ and ‘Topographical’.
* Research and use commonly used keywords for your product to attract the highest audience for your item. Go to eBay Pulse pages for common keywords or use software such as Adword Analyzer to study most commonly used key words and phrases for specific subjects. Although developed largely for search engine optimisation and Google advertising campaigns and similar, products like Adword Analyzer are equally suitable for all areas of the Internet, including eBay.
* Offer free gifts and bonuses to attract interest from people selling similar items. For example, offer three cufflinks where most offer two (emphasise these things get damaged, lost, stolen); ship items postage free; add complementary items such as matching tie pin (free or otherwise) with cufflinks, free presentation boxes with every batch of wholesale necklaces, and so on.
* Offer a free gift that is valuable in its own right, worth more than the product listed, and not available from any other source. Remember to change the freebie regularly as frequent buyers will have it already. Study and comply with eBay rules regarding gifts, bonuses and discounts. The trick is to find people not necessarily wanting your listed product, but very keen on the freebie.

That's the latest from the cufflinks authorities. Once you're familiar with these ideas, you'll be ready to move to the next level.

~ Nuts N Bolt Cufflinks ~
|

Have seen a pair such cufflinks before? It was one of the popular cufflinks during the the early 1930s. The reason for such cufflinks is that you can easily 'fix' a pair yourself in emergency and it is cheap.
It was also considered to be one the earliest novelty cufflinks can you imagine.
Well, I bet you can fix a nut to a bolt together Joe! Now who say's cufflinks must be expensive!

Gold Cufflinks For Special Occasions
|

Having read the CD "The Encyclopedia of Men's Clothes" from Andy Gilchrist. I do agree that gold cufflinks should be worn during the day as it is more catchy. I can imagine if you were to wear gold cufflinks in the evening it might send a signal to whomever you are dinning with, that you have an important meeting to go after your dinner.
So, which occasions do you wear gold cufflinks? Well, you can said that in today context, the rules seems to be thinner or does not exist. However, if you consider the importance of the events, yes. Gold cufflinks should be worn on occasion like your graduation day, your wedding day and your job interview. These are the 3 most important occassion which I consider would imppact your life thereafter.
All three event mentions will leave a lasting impression for you and others. You might event get compliment for good dressing sense.
Well, you might consider the price of gold cufflinks to be much higher than sterling and gems stone cufflinks. This is not true.
I did a search and found that gold cufflinks can be classified into 9K,14K,18K,24K gold plated types. (the more common type)
9K Gold Cufflinks
For 9K gold cufflinks is consider to be mid-range, from 400 USD to 600 USD per pair.
14K Gold Cufflinks
For 14K gold cufflinks ranges from 200 USD to 400 USD.
18K Gold Cufflinks
The more popular 18K gold cufflinks which range from 400 USD to 1500 USD is considered the highest in price.
24K Gold Cufflinks
Finally, for 24K gold cufflinks the price range is the lowest. Can be from 30 USD to 100 USD. I would recommend if you wanted a least expensive gold cufflinks, this is a good start.
Do store your gold cufflinks separate from your collection of cufflinks. You can say that woman spend most on diamonds and while men spends most on cufflinks when come to dressing.

I wonder why 18K is more expensive than 24K? Must be someone cornering the tin market.

What you never know about sterling silver cufflinks
|

Hi everyone,
Did my headline catch your attention? Hope it does. Now you might say sterling silver cufflinks are just a pair of man's cufflinks which were worn by supposely 'MAN' that's all, nothing much.
Well, then you better read on. This is a no nonsense facts which I have gathered for you,my dear friend. At least all in this page.
Before I begin, may I explain the two word sterling silver? What exactly is sterling silver? Sterling silver is basically an alloy of silver containing 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other metals, usually copper. The measurement unit is 925.
People classified fine silver (99.9% pure),as soft metal which is only suitable for use to produce large structure objects. On the other hand sterling silver is alloyed with copper to strengthen its composite. This allows silver to retain ductility and preserve its precious metal content.
1. Value for Money Silver Sterling Cufflinks Shop Get FREE report on "20 questions you must ask before spending a penny shopping on-line."
2. Smallest Sterling Silver Cufflinks. Small is nice. General rule of thumb is your cufflinks should not be biggger than the first section of your last finger.
3. Ancient Trademark Sterling Silver Cufflinks - Handmade with the most ancient and accurate techniques.
4. Cheapest Sterling cufflinks & wholesalers you can find.
Just in case you are asking how to purchase a pair of sterling cufflinks at the lowest price from Alibaba.com, first you can make an enquiry to the wholesaler or manufacturer either from China or Hong Kong. Enquire for wholesale price of cufflinks. When wholesaler send you the list of price for cufflinks. Don't be shocked by their wholesale price. Don't share the information. Just keep it to yourself. I am sure retailer wouldnt want you to know this.
Of course as an individual you cannot purchase at the wholesale price unless you decided to start your business on eBay.com.
Just a tip it does not matter what is the minimum quantity to order, there is always something called 'SAMPLE'. Hope you get the hint,ya.
